UNI Pet Clinic is a doctor-owned fast-paced general practice serving cats and dogs for over 10 years. Our practice prides itself on providing modern, up to date, advanced technology treatment for pets. We are open 6 days a week Monday through Saturday.
The Veterinary Assistant works full time, 5 days a week, working open to close. Veterinary Assistants are expected to come to work excited and help patients get the care they need.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to physically interact with both cats and dogs.
Ability to work weekend shifts (Saturdays).
Comprehend and understand medical records.
Conduct treatment on clients, including but not limited to vaccines, ear cleanings, nail trims, anal gland expressions, bloodwork, etc.
Discharge patients with correct medication instructions.
Facilitate housekeeping duties in clinic, such as cleaning exam rooms, taking out the trash and recycling, cleaning kennels, etc.
Gather history from owners and relay prognosis to Doctor and record in medical records.
Know proper restraint techniques of animals.
Prepare equipment for the following business day at close, such as sterilizing dental and surgical equipment, wrapping surgical pack, etc.
Prepare medications correctly for clients.
Present treatment plans to owners and explain the treatment.
Record weight and physical exams including temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, etc.
