Fortrend is seeking a talented, driven, well-rounded and experienced planning and purchasing professional. The candidate will be responsible for planning and purchasing finished goods products from outside vendors and internal suppliers. Coordinates all activities related to procurement of materials from forecast to delivery and prepare production schedules for manufacture of products, establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet the shipping dates according to sales forecast or customer orders, support on-time shipments and customer commitments while maintaining inventory levels at optimal levels.
This position reports to the VP of Operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Control and coordinate communications with the supplier. Conduct periodic business reviews. Drive supplier-specific initiatives (inventory, delivery, change orders, cost reduction, etc.) and resolve issues.
Compile, evaluate, and monitor supplier scorecard results, including monitoring the financial health of the supplier base.
Communicate road map forecasts to the supplier and share supplier development plans.
Work closely with Supply chain management, Stockroom and Production to meet product build plans – Shortages resolution, MRB support, and support of Financial and Operations objectives.
Drive the implementation of change orders (CO’s). Which includes timely disposition of all obsolete, excess, exhaust, and rework material related to the CO both internally and at supplier locations.
Maintain optimal inventory levels through the active use of MRP and the maintenance of all required parameters including assembly lead times, days’ supply, EOQ, etc. for all assemblies.
Resolution of problems relating to shortages, variances, or other impediments to smooth material flow through the factory.
Accountable for the proper execution of the purchase plans and ensuring that product is available per the MRP.
Responsible for the direct procurement of assigned commodities/suppliers through purchase order generation, placement and confirmations along with monitoring open order reports and order maintenance in support of on time delivery metrics.
Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
Analyzes production specifications and manufacturing capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
Plans sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers.
Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects.
Prepares production reports.
Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
Coordinates all activities related to planning of assigned commodities.
Answers all requests from Sales.
Reviews work in progress on the production floor.
Interfaces with manufacturing personnel, Engineering team on material status and production planning issues.
Other duties may be assigned.
Computer Skills and/or Tools:
MS Office and ERP/MRP software required.
Qualifications/Competencies: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
Requires a minimum of 6-8 years of experience in a Procurement and Supply Chain.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage changing priorities, stay organized, and pay attention to details in a fast-paced environment.
Experienced in ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 requirements and implementation a plus.
A proven track record of delivering on commitments within timeline and budget is required.
Demonstrated high level skills in managing complex projects.
A team player that will thrive with self-initiative and direction.
Experience with Semiconductor automation equipment is preferred, but not required
Knowledge of manufacturing inside a clean room
Ideal candidate has ERP experience and demonstrated results in planning/procurement of a variety of commodities, materials shortage management, inventory control support as well as supplier performance metrics.
Experience using Expandable ERP system a plus.
Education and/or Experience:
BS or BA in Business management or related field
