Marina Security Services is a minority-owned and operated firm specializing in security services and guard staffing.
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for clients, employees, and visitors within a healthcare setting. This role requires a proactive approach to security, including monitoring premises, preventing loss, and responding effectively to emergencies. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong judgment, professionalism, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Essential Functions
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with staff and the public.
Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, and emergencies
Strong observational skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
Implement loss prevention strategies to minimize theft and damage
Prepare detailed reports on incidents, observations, and activities during shifts
Collaborate with law enforcement when necessary to address security issues
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age
Candidates must possess a valid BSIS Guard Card and Powers to Arrest/Appropriate Use of Force certification, or be able to obtain the required certification.
Ability to perform necessary physical duties, i.e., walking, standing and making necessary rounds
Must have basic computer skills and ability to use a smartphone
Previous hospital or healthcare security experience is strongly desired, though not mandatory
Spanish-speaking is preferred but not mandatory.
Preferred: Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications, or the ability to complete this training as part of their onboarding
Candidates are required to complete CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training as part of their onboarding
