Position Summary:

Oversee the daily operations of the Service Department, ensuring efficient scheduling, high-quality workmanship, strong customer relationships, and profitable growth. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership and business management to drive excellence in service delivery and uphold company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Department Leadership

Supervise, train, and mentor service electricians and apprentices.

Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily service work and emergency calls.

Promote a positive, safe, and professional work environment.

Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and expectations.

Customer Service & Relationship Management

Serve as the main point of contact for service customers.

Maintain and grow customer relationships through prompt, professional communication.

Handle customer concerns and ensure issues are resolved quickly and effectively.

Operations & Technical Oversight

Review and approve work orders, estimates, and service reports.

Ensure all electrical work complies with NEC, NFPA, and local codes.

Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to field technicians.

Manage materials, tools, and equipment to ensure availability and cost control.

Financial Management

Track and report service department performance, including profitability, productivity, and labor utilization.

Manage budgets, approve timecards, and oversee purchasing for service jobs.

Identify opportunities for department growth and efficiency improvements.

Qualifications

Journeyman or Master Electrician or equivalent experience.

5+ years of experience in commercial/industrial electrical service work

Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and safety regulations.

Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
