Job description:

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC/R Technician to join our dynamic maintenance and service team. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in installing, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration, and related systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, including commercial and industrial property maintenance, equipment repair, and system troubleshooting. The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency in reading schematics, understanding HVAC design principles, and executing field service tasks with precision and professionalism.

Location: Antioch, East Bay, Tracy, Oakland

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am to 4pm

Pay: $30-$45/hr

The Refrigeration & HVAC (HVACR) Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the proper functioning of the refrigeration equipment while maintaining a high standard of service. The Refrigeration Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair(s) of the commercial refrigeration systems.

Responsibilities:

Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain refrigeration systems and equipment, including walk-in coolers, freezers, refrigerated display cases, ice machines, and HVACR systems

Document all work performed including but not limited to services reports, work orders by internal software

Respond to service calls in a timely manner

Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, lubricating motors, and inspecting electrical components to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.

Test and calibrate refrigeration systems using specialized tools and equipment to verify proper operation and compliance with safety and performance standards

Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and contractors to plan and execute refrigeration installations, upgrades, and retrofits

Clean driving record

✅ What You’ll Do:

Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a variety of commercial refrigeration systems, including walk-in coolers, freezers, refrigerated display cases, ice machines, and HVACR systems.

Respond promptly to service calls, providing accurate diagnosis and resolution of refrigeration-related issues.

Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, lubricating motors, and inspecting electrical components to ensure systems operate at peak efficiency.

Test and calibrate refrigeration systems using specialized tools and equipment to verify proper operation and compliance with industry standards.

Maintain detailed documentation of services performed, including service reports and work orders, using company software.

Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and contractors to plan and execute refrigeration system installations, upgrades, and retrofits.

Adhere to all safety protocols and company procedures, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

✅ What You Bring (Mandatory):

EPA Certification required.

A minimum of 4 years of field experience in a similar refrigeration role preferred.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot complex refrigeration systems.

Proficient in documentation and reporting, with basic computer skills (electronic documentation).

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Must be able to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Ability to read and interpret safety rules, maintenance instructions, and technical manuals.

Must hold a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record.

Flexibility to work non-traditional hours and weekends when required.

Competitive Pay: $30 -45hr, based on experience (Overtime opportunities available). ($80k-130k OTE)
