We are looking for experienced tile setters / helpers to work full-time for a well-established Tile Contractor.
We need to add several crews.
Have 3-10 years experience as setter and 1-5 years experience as helper in residential and commercial.
Able to work independently or part of a team and willing to take direction.
Knowledge of Schluter systems and able to prepare various surfaces for tiling by using waterproofing materials.
Knowledge of crack isolation, floating floors and floor preparation. Able to prepare for tiling by using membranes such as Kerdi and Ditra.
Clean as you go and always leaving jobsite clean.
Knowledge of sloping shower pans, mud floating, use of screeds, brushes, trowels, or deck mud to make tile beds out of mortar.
Able to prep, cut mosaic tile in Kitchens, bathrooms, residential areas, commercial units & common areas to create designs.
Attention to detail; precise measuring of surfaces to be tiled to complete your layout adequately without much waste. Knowledge of straight edge, levels & squares to align tiles for accuracy. Knowledge of using power or hand tools to cut and shape tiles to ensure they fit around obstacles, in tight corners; in odd area.
As an experience Setter/Helper, there is an expectation that you have the required tools.
Must be in good physical condition with no limits on bending, stooping, walking, standing, and ability to lift objects weighing 50 lbs or more.
You must understand English & communicate effectively, have a positive attitude, helpful, & dependable.
We expect reliability and arrival at each job site on time.
Must have US Work Authorization. Must have a valid California Driver's License and reliable transportation and be willing to travel throughout the SF Bay Area for work.
Work hours: Monday - Friday, 8 hour shift with breaks plus 30 minute lunch.
