The Port of Oakland is currently recruiting for three positions of Airport Operations Specialist II. One position is in Airside Operations and two positions are in Airport Parking & Ground Transportation Services. The incumbents will perform work involving a variety of airport operations duties related to compliance, enforcement and customer service-related functions essential to the 24-hour operation of an international airport. The classification’s scope of work includes airfield, airside and landside operations in support of airside inspections, gate management, terminal operations, parking and ground transportation, general aviation, aircraft basing, aviation security, ID badge/access control programs, as well as other airside and landside functions. This classification may be required to rotate between various assignments in the areas referenced above.

The minimum requirements include graduation from an accredited college or university, with a Bachelor’s degree in aviation or a related degree plus one year of airport operations experience OR an Associate’s degree plus two years of airport operations experience OR four years of airport operations experience of which includes one of the following areas: Airside, Landside, Security or Ground Transportation/Parking Operations.
