Independent Living Coach / In-Home Support
Shift: Monday - Friday (M/T/Th 4-10 p.m. & W/F 2-10 p.m.) 34 hrs. weekly, with the option of additional (6) hours Saturday or Sunday if full-time is desired.
Salary: $23 - $24.50 per hour DOEE
Major Duties/Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
Pass 3-month probationary period
Maintain cordial, respectful & responsible working relationships
Maintain honest and clear communication and collaboration with all staff and resident(s)
Maintain an attitude of flexibility and understanding while keeping expectations high in order to promote the highest level of independence for resident(s)
Provide light housekeeping and meal preparation
Provide quality oversight and supervision to resident(s), to include:
Supervision for safety and security
Supervision for medication and supplementsensuring accuracy, timeliness and recording of medication administration
Instruction and support for activities of daily living (ADLs)
Assistance with appropriate community excursions (CEs) and medical appointments when needed
Management, teaching and assistance with meal planning and preparation, which may include grocery shopping with resident(s)
Supervision, guidance and support and to ensure daily structure of residence and individual routines and programming (day-to-day functions) for resident:
ADLs, including self-care/hygiene
Schedules for skills acquisition (ADLs, social, vocational, behavioral) and reinforcement
Qualifications:
Desire to work with adult(s) with developmental disabilities to promote their independence
Patience
Experience with individuals with Autism/neurodiversity is helpful
Ability to do the following:
Speak, read and write clearly and effectively in English
Show proof of high school graduate or equivalency status
Climb stairs and walk distances up to two miles
Maintain professional boundaries, composure (not take things personally), and work well under pressure
Pass and maintain Department of Justice (DOJ) fingerprint clearance
Willingness to complete and maintain First Aid/CPR certification
Willingness to complete training (In person and online)
Possess reliable transportation, current automobile liability insurance, and a valid California Driver’s License (CDL)
