Cloacina is hiring a process engineer to complement our energetic and dedicated team of engineers and project managers. As a process engineer, you would help design and implement our membrane bioreactor package treatment systems. Work would include perfecting our standard products and processes, as well as brainstorming and developing new and improved systems to meet industry needs. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering required. Previous experience in the wastewater/water treatment industry is an advantage, but not required. The ideal candidate would be someone who is passionate about the environment and improving community water resources, has a background or interest in wastewater treatment, hydraulics, or hydrology, is curious and solution-oriented, dependable, and self-motivated.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

May supervise and give technical directions to other engineers and technical staff assisting with wastewater projects

Duties/Responsibilities:

Design systems to safely, efficiently, and effectively treat wastewater, remove harmful substances, and return water to the ecosystem; creates municipal and industrial treatment plants for water and wastewater.

Analyzes various wastewater treatment methods used to prepare water for industrial and domestic use; recommends the most effective method.

Designs layout and specifications for various pumping and lifting systems.

Reviews and critiques water and wastewater treatment system proposals, plans, and designs.

Conducts appropriate cost-benefit analyses for assigned projects.

Maintains knowledge and subject matter expertise.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proficient with Microsoft Excel or related software

Experience with wastewater modeling software (GPS-X or BioWin) a plus

General understanding of applicable government environmental permitting

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering required

At least three years of related experience desired

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
