What you will be doing:

Perform home maintenance type tasks as needed. Tasks must often be completed in a short time frame due to arriving guests.

Schedule and confirm outside vendor tasks (ie, contracted plumbers, electricians).

Record progress and completion in the service order system.

Assisting housecleaning teams with exterior cleaning (patios, decks, garages)

What you will need for this position:

The candidate must have experience with single or multi-family residences or hotel property maintenance experience.

Respond and attend to guest (customers) repair requests.

Assisting housecleaning teams with tasks, as needed.

Communicate with guest to resolve maintenance issues with little to no supervision.

Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.

Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines.

Carry equipment (e.g., tools, iPad/iPhone). Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and shut-offs for buildings.

Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.

Assure each days activities and problems that occur are communicated to the other shifts and supervisor using approved communication programs and standards.

Computer and typing skills for Google email and Microsoft tools (word processing and spreadsheets).

Display proficiency in the following categories:

HVAC thermostat operation

TV and media system operation

basic electrical wiring

basic mechanical skills

basic plumbing (ie unclogging sinks)

gardening/landscape maintenance, timer operation and basic irrigation repair

vehicles maintenance

Display solid knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools and other materials required to perform repair and maintenance tasks:

Troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment, plumbing (e.g., plunge toilets and unclog drains), electrical equipment including lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, replace electrical switches and outlets, and other guest room items.

Troubleshooting/installing door locks and programming of keyless entry locks.

Program TV's and perform general housekeeping and engineering-related duties.

Assist with surface preparation and painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement and the complete and thorough clean up of the painting or repair area.

Display working knowledge of computer programs related to preventative maintenance, energy management, and other systems, including devices that interact with such programs.

Perform mid-level troubleshooting home/building mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.

Display the ability to train and mentor others engineers and seasonal interns.

Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and properly store flammable materials.

Ensure uniform and personal appearances are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.

Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.

Adhere to quality expectations and standards.

Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.

Primary Hours are: Monday thru Friday with weekend rotation, holiday and evening on-call shifts. This is a full time position: 32-40 hours per week.

Salary is commensurate with experience. Company vehicle provided during business hours and/or mileage reimbursement for use of personal vehicle.

Maintenance work will be done for vacation rentals 7SVR manages, and other single family homes and commercial projects 7SVR owns and/or manages. Project sites are mostly located in Avila Beach, Pismo Beach, San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay. On occasion, the Maintenance-Engineer will be needed in Big Sur.

Seven Sisters Vacation Rentals administrative & sales office is located at 435 1st Street, Avila Bach CA. Operations and maintenance office is located at 2540 Skyway Dr, Santa Maria. Home-based for this position is Avila Beach.
