Join a growing lender/broker team as a licensed Mortgage Loan Officer evaluating, authorizing, and recommending approval of residential loan applications for qualified borrowers. We have an in-house training program built to ensure your success and a full tech stack to support your efforts.
Remote and hybrid setups are common in this role, offering flexibility based on market coverage and business needs.
### What you’ll do
- Evaluate creditworthiness by processing complete applications and documentation within specified limits.
- Interview applicants to determine eligibility and feasibility, and clearly explain loan options, rates, terms, and repayment requirements.
- Analyze income, assets, liabilities, and key ratios; set up debt payment plans when appropriate.
- Collect, review, and submit accurate files to underwriting and follow through to closing.
- Communicate proactively with clients to request or provide information and resolve issues throughout the process.
- Maintain compliance with lending regulations and company policies at all times.
- Cultivate referral relationships with real estate and business partners and meet or exceed production and quality goals.
### What you’ll bring
- Active NMLS license or eligibility, meeting SAFE Act minimums (20 hours pre-licensing education, background checks, financial responsibility, and related state requirements).
- Awareness that licensing differs by employer type: depository institutions use federal registration, while non-depositories require state licensing.
- Working knowledge of mortgage products, underwriting basics, market rates, and current regulations.
- Strong client communication, documentation, and file management skills.
### Compensation
- Loan officers are typically paid via commission on the loan amount. We have a number of flexible plans we can discuss.
