Description Robert Half is offering a permanent position for a skilled Staff Accountant to join their dynamic, rapidly-growing team. In this position, the Staff Accountant prepares journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Sonoma, California area, at a company where effort is rewarded.Your responsibilities in this role
Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable
Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision
Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting
In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Prepare company accounts receivable, billings, transactions, and reconciliation
Process full-cycle accounts payable.
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process
Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Requirements
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics is a plus, not required
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Account reconciliation experience
Journal entries experience required
Accrual Accounting experience desired
General familiarity with Microsoft Excel
Demonstrated knowledge of general ledger
Practical knowledge of QuickBooks
Adeptness in Accounts Receivable (AR)
Accounts Payable (AP) experience highly desired
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic environment
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
