Description: IAM Hourly represented employees who currently work at the main (Sunnyvale/Palo Alto) unit, Santa Cruz, Vandenburg Air Force Base or Eastern Range facilities must apply to open requisitions on Brass Ring to be considered for the position.Perform the major functions of Centralized Storage and Disposition Operations to include:segregating and dispositioning of new, used, and surplus materials, parts, and equipment. Perform Centralized Storage warehousing duties including review and validation, receipt and stocking, andsystem update.Review packaging of items for storage or disposition by performing such tasks as wrapping, covering, crating, boxing, cushioning, blocking, bracing, or strapping as may be required to ensure that safe and suitable stocking can be completed.Validate forms completion to initiate the Disposition or Storage of items. Review and determine that name and type of items is accurately reflected to include Property Tags and other pertinent data. Identify material and equipment for possible reutilization.Receive material to include heavy loads, supplies, parts, assemblies, tooling, manufacturing aids,machine tools, unique oversized loads including high-value flight hardware and equipment forCentralized Storage or other Disposition. Validate and reconcile documentation to allow forappropriate completion of receipt and processing of items regardless of location.Operate industrial forklifts where skillful handling and maneuvering is required to avoid damageto the equipment. Load, secure, and unload cargo in various stages of packaging or protection toavoid damage, or loss.Determine proper method of loading, lifting, positioning, unloading, and/or moving. Operateforklifts, lift trucks, and related equipment between vendor and transportation vehicles or offsite location for loading and unloading such items as raw materials, equipment, tooling anddisposition items. Determine locations in the warehouse to stock/unstock items using conventional and industrial forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and other materials handling equipment. Move and adjust portable storage racks as required to include the storage and removal of material in elevated spaces requiring two spotters and management oversight when required. Ensure the weight of the load does not exceed the maximum rack capacity to ensure adequate protection.Update records in the appropriate systems for Disposition or Storage. Complete forms fordisposal of surplus items; to include items for scrap, mutilation, demilitarization, hazardouswaste, and hard drives per government requirements. Process items for Disposition or Storage intake/ or withdrawal in accordance with internal procedures and guidance from leadership. Complete necessary action with physical productalong with executing system updates and documentation to ensure completion of activity.Process material for disposal in e-waste and metal collection bins using hand and poweredhandle tools.TYPICAL MATERIALS, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT USEDMaterials: one of a kind high value hardware, raw materials, supplies, parts, assemblies, toolingmanufacturing aids, machine tools, and unique oversized loads.Tools: hand and powered handling toolsEquipment: Specialized transport equipment includes Heavy industrial forklifts with the capacityto lift large and heavy items. Powered handling equipment, conventional and electric pallet jacks.Hard Drive degaussing machine.Basic Qualifications:KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREDKnowledge of Storage and Disposition practices, procedures, and systems.Familiarization with, Government, Customer and Lockheed Martin policies and regulations concerning the safe handling and processing of incoming items. Ability to obtain training to allow use of Forklifts or similar warehouse types. Ability to operate conventional, and industrial forklift or other materials handling equipment. Ability to safely operate various hand tools to include wrenches, pliers and cutters. Ability to safely operate powered handling tools to include drills, saws, cutters, grinding equipment or any tools applicable to the job.Ability to load and unload items from transport vehicles and trailers to include materialconsidered oversize by Department of Transportation. Operate industrial forklifts where skillful handling and maneuvering is required to avoid damage to the equipment.Must possesses a valid State of California Class C driver’s license.
