Job Description

The Cash Applications Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the daily work of the Cash Applications Team, applying payments, and managing adjustments to customer accounts. This Supervisor will be accountable for taking an end to end process approach, collaborating with cross-functional departments and customers at various levels to solve complex problems and payment application issues. A strong customer service mindset is required for success. The role will require strong analytical skills and the ability to identify efficiencies and recommend process improvements.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

  1. Manage the Cash Application team, ensuring that all depository receipts are fully reconciled and applied timely and appropriately
  2. Manage the adjustments and ensuring that all adjustments are properly approved and processed in a timely and accurate manner
  3. Download daily bank deposits and reconcile them to cash posting daily, ensuring all cash deposited the prior day is fully posted within the current business day
  4. Assign all payment batches and ensure timely and accurate posting of all payment batches
  5. Monitor volume of unapplied payments on a weekly basis, coordinating with appropriate staff to remediate unapplied deposits
  6. Track volume of unidentified payments, ensuring the missing remittance advice is obtained quickly for timely application to patient encounters
  7. Create and track enrollments for Electronic Fund Transfers ( EFTs) and Electronic Remittance Advices (ERAs)
  8. Respond to credit card chargebacks and inquiries
  9. Coordinate with the external collection agency on the placement of accounts, removal of accounts, and balance disputes
  10. Is made aware of conflict and complaint management and resolution. Utilizes Bridge Group HR for employee relations issues.
  11. Ensures standards of ethical business and clinical practices are maintained at all times.
  12. Working knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid compliance and reporting.
  13. Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Position Qualifications

1. Bachelor’sdegree Preferred

2. 5+ years of Revenue Cycle Management experience

3. 3+ years of healthcare management consulting and/or professional services experience

4. Home Health and/or Hospice industry experience preferred

5. Intermediate to expert knowledge of Excel or knowledge to guide Excel superusers to develop reporting

6. Experience working in multiple EHR/PMS

7. Extensive experience with project management, implementation, and workflow optimization

8. Track record of driving operational process improvement
