SQL Server Developer

OverviewLOCAL CANDIDATES WHO CAN BE ON-SITE IN VENTURA 3 DAYS PER WEEKWe are seeking an experienced SQL Server Developer with knowledge of C#/.NET for a long-term contract engagement supporting enterprise application development, data-driven systems, and ongoing platform enhancements. This role will work closely with application developers, business analysts, and infrastructure teams to design, develop, optimize, and support high-performance database solutions and integrated C# applications.This is a hands-on role ideal for a senior-level developer who is comfortable owning database design, performance tuning, and application integration in a production environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases, schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, and functionsOptimize SQL queries, indexes, and execution plans to ensure performance and scalabilityUnderstanding of C#/.NET applications and services that interact with SQL Server databasesCollaborate with application teams to design efficient data access patternsSupport data migrations, enhancements, and ongoing production supportParticipate in code reviews and contribute to development standards and best practicesDocument database designs, data flows, and technical solutionsWork with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical implementationsRequired Skills & Experience5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL ServerStrong expertise in:T-SQLStored procedures, functions, triggersIndexing and query performance tuning3+ years of professional experience with C# and .NET (Framework or .NET Core)Experience building and supporting data-driven applicationsFamiliarity with ORM tools (Entity Framework or similar)Experience with source control (Git, Azure DevOps, or similar)Strong problem-solving and debugging skillsAbility to work independently in a contract environmentNice to HaveExperience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, etc.)Experience with APIs and service-based architecturesKnowledge of data security, compliance, and role-based access controlsExperience in regulated or enterprise environments (healthcare, finance, government, etc.)Contract DetailsLong-term engagement with stable fundingCompetitive hourly rate based on experienceOpportunity for extensions and additional project work
