About the position
We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented and communicative team player to join our small crew. This role will be a Coating Technician Trainee working with specialized vacuum systems which deposit layers of coating material in a controlled environment.
In this position, you will learn how to operate machinery, measure and test the process, work with microscopes, set up and clean systems as per strict procedures, handle and prepare customer parts, troubleshoot and resolve coating issues, identify nonconforming products, read blueprints, keep documentation current and well organized.
In this position, you must be able to follow supervisor’s instructions, be dependable, punctual and willing to learn and assist in other areas of the lab when necessary.
It is your responsibility to inform your supervisor of tasks you may not be trained to do.

Review and understand job specifications
Clean and set-up coating chamber
Prepare coating materials
Prepare documentation for coating process
Coating runs
Report and document results
Measure and test results
Essential skills and qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Patience, good finger dexterity, good eyesight (microscope)
Confident, self-starter
Capable of self-direction and willingness to learn new programs
Problem solve and communicate openly
Salary and application details
This is an hourly position. Salary $16.00 with room for growth after performance evaluations. Hours are Monday thru Friday, 9am to 5pm. Submit your application to careers@guernseycoating.com
