The Evening Janitorial Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness and maintenance of our clients' facilities, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for their employees and visitors. This role involves managing custodial staff, coordinating cleaning schedules, inspecting facilities, and performing various cleaning and maintenance tasks when needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in janitorial services, facilities maintenance, and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
Responsibilities
Supervise and train custodial staff in proper cleaning techniques and safety protocols.
Develop and implement cleaning schedules to ensure all areas are maintained effectively.
Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces when needed.
Conduct inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with health and safety standards and
communicate findings with janitors.
Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, order replacements as necessary.
Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed to keep facilities in good working order.
Report any issues or concerns to Senior Management.
Communicate effectively with clients and address their specific requests.
Qualifications
Proven experience in custodial or janitorial roles; prior supervisory experience.
Strong knowledge of commercial cleaning practices and industrial cleaning techniques.
Familiarity with floor care methods including buffing and waxing a plus.
Experience in facilities maintenance.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team; strong leadership skills are important.
Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks which may include lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
Fluent in reading, writing and speaking both English and Spanish.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work Monday through Friday late afternoon and evening shift.
Willingness to work occasional weekends for special projects.
Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
