Position Overview

Norman’s Nursery is seeking an experienced Pesticide Sprayer Supervisor responsible for maintaining plant health by managing pests and diseases and applying treatments effectively and safely.

Set the weekly work schedules for the yard sprayers throughout our Southern California yards.

Lead, train, and supervise the team of sprayers, providing guidance on best practices for equipment use and chemical application.

Oversee the preparation and application of pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers according to established guidelines and schedules.

Operate specialized equipment, including sprayers, backpack sprayers, and hand-held applicators, to achieve accurate coverage and effective treatment.

Adjust application rates and methods based on plant needs, weather conditions, and specific pest or disease problems.

Retain accurate records of chemical applications, including dates, types of chemicals used, amounts, and areas treated.

Request necessary supplies and chemicals for each yard and maintain accurate inventory records.

Monitor plant health and adjust treatments as necessary.

Provides monthly safety training to all sprayers.

Serve as the main contact for city and county authorities, responsible for completing all necessary reports and forms.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

A team of pesticide sprayers throughout several yards.

Required Skills

6+ years of successful supervisory experience in the agriculture industry.

Extensive knowledge of plant care, pest management, and chemical applications.

Ability to operate and maintain spraying equipment.

Fluent English & Spanish (reading and writing).

Certifications

A valid California Class "C" Driver License.

Pesticide Safety Instructor Training Certificate

A current and valid Qualified Applicator Certificate

OSHA Safety Certification

Work Hours

Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with weekend availability as needed.
