Description Robert Half is recruiting for a strong Accounting Manager Consultant to support our large privately held Transportation client for a 6 months+ leave of absence. The consultant will be knowledgeable of US GAAP, have experience from a large company ( >500M revenue), worked with external auditors (Big 4), and manage 7 accounting staff. A detailed understanding of operations including revenue recognition, cost of sales, inventory, inventory reserves, salesperson commissions, inventory financing, service contracts, vendor rebates, finance and insurance, licensing fees, and accounts receivables. This role could be remote or hybrid located in Whittier, CA. In addition, the consultant will assist at the Corporate Accounting team with the month-end close preparation including preparing all balance sheet account reconciliations related to the division, reviewing account reconciliations, ensuring all subledgers and reports match the general ledger, preparing any adjusting journal entries and preparing audit schedules as required by the external auditor.Skills:
Must be personable with good presentation skills to communicate with all levels of senior management.
Strong Excel skills
Comfortable working with high volume transactions
Dealership/ Automotive industry experience ( ideal to have but not required)
Requirements
Possess a minimum of 5+ years of experience in the field of accounting, preferably within the retail industry. Hold a strong understanding of US GAAP. Demonstrate knowledge of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) calculations. Showcase experience with Inventory Reserves and Inventory Accounting. Have a solid understanding of Sales Commission structures and calculations. Display familiarity with Financing Transaction processes. Possess experience with Rebate calculations and processes. Demonstrate knowledge of Licensing within the retail sector. Hold experience in managing Accounts Receivable (AR). Be able to work collaboratively with a team and possess strong communication skills. Have the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
