Job Description
SummaryThe Bartender mixes and serves beverages in a timely and friendly manner. Essential Job FunctionsMix drinks and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages Offer guests recommendations of drinks to compliment certain food items Know all menu item origins, preparations, and ingredients in order to make recommendations Maintain the proper care and cleanliness of serving equipment and glassware Serve guests in a timely and friendly manner Take and process payments Complete beverage and general supply requisitions Maintain positive communication with service and kitchen staffSet up, maintain, and break down bar area Perform other duties as assignedQualifications
Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required Familiarity with state liquor law required Must be over 18 years of age Basic knowledge of wine, food, and cooking methods preferredSix months to one year of related experience preferredAdditional Information
Supervision given and receivedGiven: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.Received: Works under direct supervision of Restaurant Manager. Tasks are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. Instruction, advice and assistance are readily available.
Work Environment and physical demands Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of timeRegularly work in wet, hot and humid conditions for extended periods of time and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces.
