The overarching goal of our laboratory is to study the immunologic basis of kidney disease, and to develop novel therapies and diagnostic tools for treating patients with these diseases. The laboratory uses various immuno-assays to analyze samples from kidney disease patients. We also develop novel reagents and methods for measuring and blocking immune mediators. In parallel, the lab uses animal models, cell culture systems, and multiplexed tissue imaging methods to explore mechanisms of disease. The position will entail experiments to analyze patient samples using various ELISAs, in vitro protein analyses, and flow cytometric methods. Results will be correlated with clinical data.The Division of Renal Diseases and Hypertension has a longstanding international reputation for excellence in research. Our laboratory has explored the immunologic mechanisms for more than 20 years.
