Description We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team located in Aurora, Colorado. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for managing payroll, compensation, and supporting HR within the department. You will also be navigating financial systems and providing financial data to key stakeholders. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Manage the monthly additional pay process and contract pay for clinical faculty. Process and monitor the monthly med/legal payments for faculty and reconcile the balances. Update, track, and audit funding distributions for faculty, identifying inconsistencies and determining solutions. Complete Payroll Expense Transfers (PETs) as needed to ensure salary is allocated to appropriate accounts. Reconcile clinical commitments for all faculty, determining if clinical overages exist where payment is owed. Calculate and maintain clinical commitments for fellows, ensuring appropriate payment for any overages. Process and communicate FAMLI leave calculations to all departmental staff. Manage and direct monthly payroll process, including monthly timecard process for University staff, monthly leave for staff and faculty, and vacation upload for clinical faculty. Handle bi-weekly and monthly timecards for hourly staff and PRN providers. Handle monthly hours for PRN providers for monthly salary and FML and other leave hours, inputting in the system and coordinating with the HR department to ensure accurate records. Requirements Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field Proven experience in Fund Accounting and General Ledger management Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software Strong understanding of GAAP and other accounting principles Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines Demonstrated integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of accounting.
