The Academic Dean (AD) serves as the chief academic officer of the Berkana Institute of Massage Therapy, overseeing all aspects of academic quality, faculty and student performance, and operational excellence within the academic department. Reporting directly to—and often serving as a gatekeeper and liaison for—the President, the AD ensures that Berkana’s programs are delivered with consistency, integrity, and alignment to the Institute’s mission, values, and brand.
The Academic Dean manages day-to-day academic operations, supports faculty and students, upholds compliance and accountability standards, and facilitates effective communication across all levels of the organization. This includes overseeing grade and attendance tracking, disciplinary processes, curriculum updates, and classroom logistics, as well as providing leadership during emergencies, weather events, or scheduling adjustments.
The AD operates both on campus and remotely, utilizing Institute-provided technology and platforms such as Zoom, Chanty, Thryv, and a Berkana-designated phone line for professional communication with students, faculty, and administrative staff. For more details, please request.
