Description SAIC is seeking an OPED Field Test Engineer responsible for performing end-to-end evaluations, engineering testing and systems support. This position will be based out of Chantilly, VA.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

a. Conduct Field Evaluation and engineering tests to include set-up and execution of testing against operational systems.b. Develop highly technical plans (Word) and scripts (Excel) for each test activity and coordinate with test customers and test range facilities to ensure test resources are available and test requirements are met.c. Brief test plans to all required test review boards/stakeholdersd. Manage test execution in real time according to the test plans and test scripts, including providing real time communications and coordination between the test customer and test location during test execution.e. Stay knowledgeable of a wide range of emerging commercial technology trends of value to test customers that could provide sources of targets for OPED-supported testing.f. Edit/format technical reports and operational testing and performance evaluation documents for language and technical content issues and prepare for publication.g. Address completeness and accuracy of technical information and ensure content reads logically at the proper level of complexity for intended audience.h. As required, create graphics to illustrate material and effectively convey technical information. The detail, format and publication of documents will be specified by the Government.i. Prepare, edit, and coordinate system engineering support documentation and technical reports in support of operational performance evaluations.j. Conduct exercise evaluations to include end-to-end assessments of national systems and deliver after-action reports and final technical reports.k. Engage with technical representatives within the Intelligence Community (IC) and Department Of Defense (DOD) to formulate ideas on how OPED can support their needs through Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) testing, Customer system performance evaluations, hardware and software experiments, military and commercial technology demonstrations, and sensor capability assessments.l. Engage with technical representatives at Scientific and Technical Intelligence (S&TI) Centers, and through their secure Intelink websites, to determine the capabilities of current and future targets of interest to the IC and DOD for test and evaluation.m. Engage with representatives from U.S. and Second Party Partners at Electronic Warfare Ranges (EWRs), Electronic Combat Ranges (ECRs) and other test range organizations and facilities to determine their resources and capabilities to support customer, IC and DOD test and Evaluation.n. Translate customer, IC and DOD customer needs into Test Support Requests (TSRs) which are submitted into the requirements database at the customer.o. Correspond with our customer, IC, and DOD customers, S&TI Centers and EWRs/ECRs via the Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications Systems (JWICS), the Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet), and Non-secure Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNet).p. Prepare Statement of Work (SOW) for selected test projectsq. Calculate satellite ephemeris times and associated orbitology data with respect to the test locationsr. Must have the ability to rapidly assimilate new ISR and sensor technologies and technical concepts into test planning.s. Must have the ability to interact with and train enlisted staff personnel Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree and 9+ year's professional related experience
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Poly
  • Must be highly self-motivated; strong technical and leadership background; professional and tactful under pressure; effective negotiation and diplomatic skills
  • Must have excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, for coordinated communications with organizations and representatives throughout the IC and DOD, including senior military and government civilian personnel and contractors
  • Must have an in-depth knowledge of IC and other ISR sensor capabilities to develop test planning.
Target salary range: $100,001 - $125,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
