The National Western Stock Show is in search of candidates to join our Event Operations team as Assistant Team Leads!

Who We Are

Founded in 1906, the Western Stock Show Association aims to invest in future generations by promoting youth and community development through livestock and equestrian education, innovation, entertainment, and competition. We are best known for putting on the annual

National Western Stock Show, which has called Denver its home since the 1890s.

Outside of the best 16 days in January, our events complex keeps busy year-round by hosting horse & livestock shows, trade shows, wrestling tournaments, concerts, cheerleading competitions, car shows and more. Our Event Operations team plays a critical role in all of our

events and keeps our complex functioning at all times.

What We Do

Members of our Event Staff work under the direction of our Team Leads & Assistant Leads to complete a variety of tasks relating to the events hosted at the National Western Complex. If you are looking for a hands-on job with lots of variety, this is the position for you!

As an Assistant Lead, you will oversee small teams of Event Staff and assist them as they complete tasks relating to events hosted at the National Western Complex. Assignments may include event set-up/tear-down, stall cleaning, general maintenance/landscaping and more depending on our upcoming show schedule. Assistant Leads will also be tasked with operating

heavy equipment (tractors, forklifts, skid steers, etc.) as needed to fulfill event needs. This is a great next step for candidates who are interested in taking their first step towards management or leadership roles!

What You Need

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in event set-up/tear down, custodial/landscaping work, and/or building maintenance and repair. This individual will be open to learning how to operate power tools and heavy equipment as needed.

This individual should have prior experience with operating heavy equipment or be open to learning how to do so on the job. A clean MVR is required and an active Driver’s License is strongly preferred.

To thrive in this position, candidates must be able to be on their feet for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds. Candidates should be comfortable with working indoors, outside in all weather conditions, and around animals. Fluency in the English language is a must.

As our schedule is based on the events booked in our Complex, scheduling flexibility is a must. Events may require early morning hours, late evening/overnight hours, holiday hours, and will definitely require weekend hours. Candidates should be prepared to work up to 12-hour shifts during events.

All job offers are contingent on the successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug test. Candidates must be 18 or older to apply.
