Tiny home Build Seeking Experienced Builder Volunteers / Mentors hours contributed are able to be written off on your taxes, as a contribution to our non profit
Hi! My name is Erin, and I have been steadily building a tiny home on wheels through the past year, with the help of incredible mentors, friends, and volunteers. So far, we have framed and sheathed the house. Our next steps will be completing the weathering in process, installing plumbing and electric, and then finishing out the interior ideally completing the home this winterspring.
I have nonprofit status for this work with the mission of designing and and making accessible : affordable, beautiful, self- sustaining, land-based housing. The vision is to ultimately create land based community neighborhoods, where folks can live closer to each other, to the land, more beautifully, and rent / mortgage free, with the help of home designs and programs like these. Eventually, teaching the skills of building these homes to students who would like to build their own.
We are in our beta stages of designing and building our first prototype home. This tiny home is somewhat of an earthship crossover, in designing it to not need to plug into power or water. It will catch rain water, have water storage, filtration, and recirculation systems, and have solar and propane for power. I am designing thoughtfully to implement sustainable materials, and thermal design, so as to use solar orientation for heating and cooling.
I would love to connect with a couple more experienced builders, and or plumbers and electricians, who would be interested in this project, and feel called to contributing some time and expertise to this build
