Position Summary:
Performs clerical, technical, and administrative support functions for the
Municipal CourtEssential Functions:
Maintains records
Scans all court documents efficiently, assembles, tracks, and
updates summonses
Assists customers, answers telephones,
Checks in defendants, witnesses, jurors, interpreters, and defense attorneys
Sequesters witnesses and jurors and acts as Bailiff during jury
trials; distributes
Distributes forms regarding court appearances; routes files;
prepares dockets, queries and enters records in case management software
Schedules court appearances; explains paperwork to defendants;
maintains files; prepares courtroom; helps to maintain order in courtroom;
Assists in monitoring of prisoners; assists in confirmation and
coordination of arrests for defendants with warrants; during emergencies
instructs and ensures evacuation of court; confirms community service hours;
Processes police reports from New World into case management software;
update dispositions in New World software; enters parking tickets into case
management software, maintains files, and sends out late notices as necessary;
Takes payments; balances court accounts; drafts letters; processes
cash and surety bonds, forfeits bonds; queries Colorado Crime Information
Center (CCIC) for criminal histories and enters dispositions;
Performs data exchange with the Department of Motor Vehicles;
schedules jury trials; sends juror notifications; enters bench warrants
into CCIC; coordinates arraignments;
Assists with coordination of prisoner transports; schedules
interpreters and court appointed attorneys; provides releasable information
to parties; enters real time disposition and sentencing information;
Operates digital recording system; provides support to the
judge(s); creates reports and performs other duties as assigned.Education, Training & Certifications:
Necessary:
Requires a high school diploma or GED certification; college preferred.
Must have Colorado Crime Investigation Center clearance or ability to
apply and receive certification and abide by all CCIC/Municipal Court
written policies.
Must have excellent computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
Must have ability to use standard office equipment. Experience in legal
and/or court environment preferred. Ability to maintain confidential
informatio
Good communication skills and the ability to handle difficult situations
is imperative.
