BUSINESS OVERVIEW

Truffle Pig is a full service restaurant located steps away from the Gondola at the base of the Steamboat Springs Ski Area. Originally opening in 2010, Truffle Pig has evolved into one of the preeminent dining experiences in Colorado. The menu is engineered using the freshest ingredients available to our culinary team on a seasonal basis. Our team has cultivated a phenomenal beverage program to compliment our the culinary offerings. This program boasts selections of 250+ Whiskies / 200+ Tequilas / 75+ Amari / 50+ Rums / 900+ Bottled Wines / 35+ Craft Cocktails / 30+ Wines by the Glassincluding exclusive Coravin BTG selections.

Our team has had little turnover throughout the years, which we attribute to a culture that empowers our team to be themselves, and become masters of their craft. While Truffle Pig is in no way a perfectly run business, it is our endeavor to deliver an exceptional experience to our guests and our internal team on a daily basis. We are looking for the right individual who can join our team and effectively contribute to the evolution of our brand.

Following are some defined expectations for this position. There is a more thorough job description that will be shared with eligible candidates. This position will work directly with the Director of Operations of the business for leadership and direction.

EXPECTATIONS

Reports to the Director of Operations

Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline all employees, to ensure that established cultural and core standards are defined to convey expectations and deliver accountability.

The ability to be visible in the operation, provide recognition, promote good public relations, and handle situations, concerns or special requests for guests, clients and vendors.

Describe and ensure quality of all food and beverage items, ingredients, and preparation methods, as well as provide expert knowledge of wine and spirits in an elegantly appointed environment dedicated to an attentive and distinctive experience for lunch or dinner.

The ability to work closely with Director of Operations, Executive Chef and Sous Chefs to design an effective culinary menu and beverage program while ensuring excellent product quality that delivers value.

Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, inventory and cash control.

Observe physical condition of facilities and equipment in the outlet and make recommendations for corrections and improvements as needed.

Work professionally with co-workers, vendors and ownership.

Participates in execution of Key Marketing, PR, and Social Media Campaigns.

SKILLS + COMPETENCIES

Fluent in English, written and verbal

Must have at least 2 years’ previous management experience in full service dining with very comprehensive beverage/wine programs

Ability to promote best practices and set high standards of culinary excellence

Passion for learning, nurturing and teaching

Professionally respected within the hospitality industry

Computer savvy with Microsoft Office Suite
