Colorado Steel Works is looking for a certified welder. Any certification is probably okay. You need to like welding and be proficient at it. This job entails a significant amount of stick welding in the field here in Grand Junction. These will not be full penetration welds, mostly members and decking. If you don't like welding all day, this job is probably not for you. Although there are many days were you will not be welding all day.
Colorado Steel Works does structural and architectural steel work in the Grand Junction and Aspen Communities. We have a significant amount of work. This job will entail working in the shop fabricating beams, columns, railings and stairs. Then several trips to the field to install with cranes.
We also do intricate detailed architectural steel including fireplace fronts, stove hoods, custom doors. We also paint and patina. Mig, stick, tig are all used regularly. You don't need to be proficient in all of these areas, but if you have an interest, opportunities are available. We are a small family company with close ties to our customers. This is a thinking job. You will need to think about what you are doing and be part of the solution. We don't micromanage unless it is necessary.
