Junior AccountantJob DescriptionThe Junior Accountant is responsible for processing all daily receipts related to customers' payments and monitoring the accounts receivable schedule on a weekly basis, including customer and general ledger account reconciliations. This position performs a range of general bookkeeping and accounting support functions for the department.Responsibilities
Prepare and post daily deposits
Process credit card payments, virtual check payments, wire payments, and ACH payments
Create invoices and credit notes for customers and prepare monthly statements
Manage accounts receivable and collect payment for overdue invoices
Create daily deposits and coordinate internal and external RMAs
Investigate and resolve customer queries
Work closely with Customer Service and Commercial departments for account payments
Act as a backup for Accounts Payable as needed
Record and store deposits paperwork
Other duties as assigned by management
Essential Skills
BS/BA required in a related field
2+ years’ experience in accounting, including GL, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel (Pivot Tables, V Lookups)
ERP experience, with a preference for Sage
Credit and collections experience
Strong knowledge of general accounting principles
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong time-management skills and attention to detail
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $32.00 - $36.00Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
