The Digital Content Editor plays a major role in the day-to-day execution of NBC Connecticut’s multiplatform news strategy. They will help to write, create and curate content for our multimedia platforms. The ideal candidate will work with reporters, photographers, digital team members, producers, and assignment editors to ensure the station’s content is impactful and relevant to the local audiences. The ideal candidate possesses great people skills, excellent reporting, writing and editing skills, as well as a passion for multi-platform journalism.Responsibilities include:Gather, write, headline, and publish local news content for NBC ConnecticutReport and disseminate breaking and developing news quickly through website updates, push alerts, social posts and newslettersManage placement and display of content across all multimedia platformsUse Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube and other social media platforms to distribute our reporting and engage audiencesParticipate in daily editorial planning meetings Implement SEO best practices in written copy and headlinesCoordinate and manage live streamsEdit broadcast video for digital presentationEdit and enrich broadcast scripts for digital platform publicationWork with reporters, photographers, and producers to identify breakout videos from content already gathered at scenes and press conferences
