The Grinding Machinist / Machine Operator is responsible for the timely and accurate
set-up and operation of Grinding Machines. Experience with manual grinding is a
definite must as well as experience in a lean environment within the commercial and
aerospace industries.
THE WORK;
-Work to very close tolerances (i.e. +/-.0002 in.)
-Able to work 45-55 hrs /week, plus Saturdays when necessary
-High level of focus and attention to detail and accuracy
-Be able to stand, walk, sit, bend, climb/balance, squat/kneel/crouch/ and lift up to 50 lbs
-Set-up/operate Surface and O.D. grinding machines
-Materials include Stainless, Low carbon, and Tool steels
-Must be able to work with limited supervision
QUALIFICATIONS;
-Minimum 10 years Set-up/operate Grinding Machines
-Capable of grinding 1 pc lot quantities when necessary
-Good blueprint reading skills
-Basic understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerance
-Excellent work ethic
-Experience working in an AS9100/ISO environment
-Self-motivated individual with the desire to continually improve
