Position Summary:

Maintains kitchen work areas and restaurant equipment and utensils in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties.

Standards of Performance and Conduct (each is an essential function):

Consistently demonstrates and incorporates principals of safety, loss prevention and risk management for self and others into daily activities and ensures participation in Goodwill safety programs. Attends required safety training and participates in safety drills and exercises. Ensures tools and equipment are always in good working order and uses equipment safely.

Consistently maintains acceptable level of productivity.

Requires punctual and regular attendance. Time away from work is approved and taken in accordance with established policies. During the 90 day probationary period employee will not be tardy or absent from work. Employee will be expected to work when scheduled.

Performs job duties in a prompt, thorough and acceptable manner. Performs duties in a manner that promotes team concept and reflects Goodwill’s mission and ethics, in accordance with Goodwill policies, procedures, CARF standards and generally accepted business practices.

Works cooperatively with all organization employees, participants, customers and other persons contacted during the course of performing duties. Shows respect and sensitivity for those with barriers to employment.

Safeguards company property, including donated goods. Reports any incident of theft, fraud, waste or unauthorized possession of company property.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Cleans and Maintains Patron & Employee Bathrooms, Assuring sanitary conditions.

Collects and cleans all dishes, glasses, utensils, pots and pans and related food use items.

Safely operates dishwasher and checks items for cleanliness; loads appropriate soap levels and time cycles.

Stores cleaned, dried items in proper places.

Transports items between dining room and dishroom.

Removes garbage from area and disposes of in proper waste containers. Operates garbage disposal unit.

Cleans floor of any spillage of water, detergent and/or foodstuffs per safety and sanitation guidelines.

Washes worktables, walls, floors, and department equipment.

Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.

Qualifications :

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience – High school diploma or equivalent highly desirable.

Ability to:

Measure chemicals and cleaning supplies.

Walk and stand much of the time.

Ascend and Descend Stairs frequently throughout the day, carrying items up and down.

Lift and carry for a short distance up to 10 pounds and 50 pounds rarely.

Push heavy wheeled carts.

Operate commercial dishwashing equipment.

Use commercial cleaning products; read and understand usage instructions for cleaning products and supplies.

Wear latex gloves.

Work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.
