Location: Connecticut & Rhode Island (daily commute to RI)

Employment Type: Part-time or Full-time (flexible depending on abilities & availability)

Compensation: Competitive pay based on availability, experience, and skills; additional pay for delivery assignments

About

A year-round indoor farm located in RI, growing fresh, organic greens for distributors, grocery chains, and restaurants throughout the Northeast. We take pride in maintaining a clean, food-safe environment while cultivating a strong, supportive team that values excellence, independence, and growth.

This role is especially unique:

We are seeking a Connecticut-based Cleaning, Maintenance & Driver Associate who will not only support our farm operations, but also allow our leadership team to be productive during the commute from Connecticut to Rhode Island. If you have a strong driving record, reliable transportation, and a passion for hands-on work, this is an extraordinary opportunity.

The Role

This is a cross-functional position combining three important areas:

1. Cleaning / Sanitation Support

You will help ensure our indoor farm maintains its world-class food safety standards by:

Cleaning benches, floors, walls, tables, equipment, and food-safe workspaces

Completing routine daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation tasks

Handling both large deep-cleaning projects and smaller detailed work

Maintaining climate-controlled rooms (45°F – 80°F depending on department)

Executing cleaning procedures with accuracy, consistency, and pride

Following strict food safety requirements

2. Basic Maintenance Responsibilities

You do not need to be a licensed tradesperson; but basic handyman skills are a plus. Responsibilities include:

Changing water filters

Checking and recording outdoor mouse traps

Greasing and repairing metal transport carts

Minor plumbing, carpentry, and electrical repairs

Updating logs, maintenance sheets, and records

Following the farm’s structured maintenance schedule

Operating pallet jacks or forklifts (training provided!)

3. Driving Responsibilities

This role is intentionally designed for someone who can:

Safely drive during the commute between Connecticut and our facility in RI

Maintain a clean driving record and valid, up-to-date insurance

Drive a company van when serving as a fill-in delivery driver

Complete occasional multi-stop produce deliveries to New York City, Boston, and surrounding markets

Represent the operation with professionalism and reliability

Your driving support allows us to maximize leadership work time during travel making your role both unique and highly valued.

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is:

Thorough, dependable, and detail-oriented

Self-motivated and able to work without micro-management

Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual

Able to lift 50 lbs

Comfortable working across varying temperature zones

A fast learner with a strong sense of responsibility

Someone who enjoys hands-on work far more than sitting in a cubicle

Based in Connecticut with reliable transportation and excellent driving history

A background in cleaning, maintenance, food service, or farm work is a plus; but not required. We will train the right person.

Why This Job Is Amazing

You’ll never be bored — this role spans cleaning, maintenance, logistics, driving, and daily farm life

You’ll have autonomy — we trust you as long as responsibilities are executed

You’ll be in a fulfilling, active environment rather than stuck behind a desk

You’ll join a truly supportive team that works hard and cares deeply

You’ll grow your skillset in food safety, facility operations, maintenance, and farm systems

You’ll benefit from real stability — year-round indoor farming means consistent work

Full-time employees get great benefits:

Telehealth

401(k)

Paid time off (PTO)

Growth opportunities across multiple departments

Compensation (Simplified):

Flexible part-time or full-time hours to fit your lifestyle, with pay based on your skills, experience, and availability always above minimum wage. Additional pay is provided for occasional delivery assignments with company vehicles.
