For the next 3 years, this role will be on-site at a project in Washington D.C. Following completion of this project, the Project Manager will support other project sites across the Mid Atlantice region.Or ideal candidate will live in the greater D.C. metro or Northern Virginia area.PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITIONThe Project Manager directs and coordinates all activities of their assigned construction projects to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed project duration and budget parameters. Manages construction projects per contractual requirements by utilizing appropriate resources. Primarily responsible for completing construction projects on or under budget and on-schedule. Must be capable of working independently and be able to use best judgment in critical decision making. Reviews design arrangements and oversees the implementation of all scopes of work.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Plans, directs and coordinates activities of projects to ensure that goals/objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and financial parameters.

Reviews project schedules, cost estimation, budgets, scopes of work, standards and quotes from subcontractors and suppliers

Manages all parties involved (internal and external) and ensures professional project management from development to construction phase

Manages project implementation to assure cost, time, quality and execution guidelines are achieved according to the schedule.

Monitors site safety compliance and enforcement of it.

Prepares daily reports and logs all issues related to the work and submits them to the Sr. Project Manager.

Conducts high-level quality control inspections of the work being performed and informs the Sr. Project Manager of deficiencies found.

Enforces cleanliness of the job site.

POSITION SPECIFICSMinimum Requirements:

Associate degree in a related discipline (e.g., HVAC, electrical, mechanical, or construction management), and a minimum of 3+ years of related work experience in construction management or project management or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Demonstrated ability in managing commercial construction projects: development, planning, installation and execution.

Experience in handling high volume and fast paced situations where tact and cooperation are crucial to cost-effective operation.

Experience at preparing estimates and value engineering.

Working knowledge in electrical, mechanical (HVAC), plumbing and general construction.

All candidates must have the ability to speak, read and write English.

Professional communication and writing skills are a must. Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation; requires excellent prooing skills and attention to detail

Occupational health, safety and environmental regulations, legislation, codes and standards knowledge. Must possess, at minimum, a current OSHA 10 hour card – OSHA 30 is preferred.

Must be able to read, interpret and comprehend contract language.

Must have strong computer skills and a high level of aptitude using Microsoft Office applications, as well as project scheduling applications, such as Primavera and/or MS Project.

Must be willing to travel to manage projects outside of the assigned office general vicinity. Travel may be for extended periods of time.

Must be able to physically perform the essential duties of the role, including:

Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Walk for long durations

Climb ladders and scaffolds

Must possess a valid driver's license and able to operate a motor vehicle

Federal Security Clearance (HSPD12 minimum) or ability to get clearance

Preferred Requirements:

Experience managing construction project operations as a Site Superintendent, Site Manager, or Construction Superintendent

5+ years of construction project experience

Bachelor of Science degree in a related discipline (e.g., electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, construction management)

Experience in permitting processes with local authorities

Independently has overseen and successfully managed multi-million dollar projects.

Experience in management and completion of large scale projects
