Title: Data Warehouse Engineer
Mandatory skills:Relational Database, database management systems,ERWin, Vertica dB Server, Tableau Reporting Server,Microsoft Access, Microsoft SharePoint 2007,Requirements Gathering, IT management,Dimensional Model, database design, database scripts, data analysis, data presentation,SQL Server Analysis Services, Reporting Services, Integration Services,Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Visio,Tableau, Tableau Data-Prep,SQL Server management Studio Description: • Works together with IT management in defining enterprise data architecture strategy• Teams up with the client Programs and Architecture on implementing the data architecture consistently across vendor-hosted and client-operated data centers• Leads in designing and revising data model for data warehouse, and meta data and data dictionaries across the enterprise• Meets and collaborates with business users on requirements and objectives• Leads in reviewing and revising database designs and scripts on an ongoing basis• Leads in documenting meta-data about Data Warehouse System according to computer industry standards and knowledge of database management systems.• Manages data loads, and security, storage and performance strategies and implementations.• Serves as technical team lead in the development of business intelligence reports and analysis, providing mentoring, guidance and troubleshooting to analysis team members in solving complex reporting and analytical problems• Conducts complex analyses of strategic issues based on analysis of trends and interrelationships of key performance drivers documented in the data warehouse, especially the identification of test and control groupsand comparison and evaluation of their relative performance; synthesizes research results and develops actionable strategic recommendations; communicates research results and strategic recommendations to nationwide and division strategy managers.• Devises ER diagrams and identifies unique foreign keys, entities, attributes, relationships and business rules for data warehouse• Performs performance tuning for complex Tableau data sources and ETL queriesEDUCATION• Master’s DegreeA Master’s Degree is required in Computer Science, Information Technology or related degreeLENGTH OF EXPERIENCE• 8+ years in Data Warehouse Engineering.• 5+ years of experience in VerticaREQUIRED TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE• Knowledge of Relational Databases 8• Knowledge of Dimensional Model 8• SQL Server management Studio 4• SQL Server Analysis Services, Reporting Services and Integration Services 4• Requirements Gathering 8• SQL Programming 4• Microsoft Access 8• Microsoft SharePoint 2007 or above 4• Microsoft Visio 5• Microsoft Excel 8• ERWin 5• Vertica dB Server 5• Tableau 5• Oracle 4• PL/SQL 4 DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS• Vertica Certified Professional• Kafka• Pentaho• Squirrel• Tableau, Tableau Data-Prep• In-DB Predictive Analytics within Vertica• QGIS, ArcGIS• Creating visual displays for data analysis and presentation• TOAD for Oracle• Analytical and problem solving skills• Developing and/or creating new or more effective ideas, approaches, etc.• Developing and executing short-range plans/decisions• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills• Ability to exercise sound judgment across a broad range of circumstances• Ability to lift 15 to 25 pounds VIVA USA is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to maintaining a professional working environment that is free from discrimination and unlawful harassment.
