As a member of the Trade & Channel team, this Director is integral to Amgen’s success in the US Healthcare market.The Director will be responsible for all pharmacy relations and managing all aspects of Amgen’s US portfolio within the pharmacy channels. This role will have frequent interaction and responsibility to Executive Director and Vice President level and potential to interact at the senior most levels within Amgen. They will be responsible for development of strategy and direct negotiations within the pharmacy chain as well as oversight of the Account Executive, Specialty Pharmacy team. The Director will also contribute to and drive product-specific distribution strategies, partner with supply chain, serve as expert to brand and market access teams.

Lead, train, and develop Account Executive, Specialty Pharmacy team who is responsible for managing the pharmacy relationships across key national and regional accounts.

Ensure process adherence by the Account Executive, Specialty Pharmacy team and operations counterparts in implementation network strategies

Own and maintain relationship with key partners within the distribution chain including retail pharmacy and specialty pharmacy

Ensure accuracy of all financial analytics and business assessments

Lead the development and maintenance of distribution strategies for both new product launches as well as existing portfolio

Enable Account Executive, Specialty Pharmacy team to have a comprehensive understanding of key customer’s financials, growth drivers, mergers/acquisitions, end customers, etc.

Oversee all contracted pharmacy’s QBRs to ensure they are as productive as possible, with clear learning and actions, to ensure pharmacies are maximizing patient’s experience

Collaborate with Brand Teams, Sales, Marketing, Finance, customers, Legal, and MAMCT teams as necessary to drive Amgen market strategy.

Ensure accuracy and timeliness of ad-hoc requests by senior leadership for product and/or customer related business analytics and strategy.

Travel up to 25%

Doctorate degree with 4 years of pharmacy channel and significant negotiation experience.

Or

Master’s degree and 8 years pharmacy channel and significant negotiation experience;

Or

Bachelor’s degree and 10 years pharmacy channel and significant negotiation experience;

And

2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Preferred Qualifications:

8+ years of experience solving complex business problems and managing multiple projects concurrently

Advanced knowledge of Excel and financial modeling

Ability to read and understand legal contract documents

Demonstrated track record of increasing responsibility and leadership experience

Strong negotiation skills

Previous experience providing and delivering information for decision making by executive management

Demonstrated ability to lead and develop impactful teams across multiple locations
