Inspired by a desire to share the rich flavors of Japanese Ramen, we aim to create a space where the local community and visitors from around the world can gather and enjoy never before seen Junzo's style Japanese Ramen made from scratch. We hope to offer an experience that captures the warmth and essence of one of Junzo’s life works and passion.

We are looking for a passionate and team-oriented prep cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with a focus on efficiency and attention to detail. As a Prep Cook at Kaiju Ramen & Bar, you will work under the direction of the Ramen Line Cook as well as with other kitchen staff to prepare ingredients and assist with the production of Bowls/Dishes.

Responsibilities will include:

Prepare and portion ingredients for cooking according to menu requirements.

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.

Support the preparation for both hot bowls and soups for the Ramen station.

Assist with setting up ingredients and equipment for service (Mise en Place).

Comply with all food safety and sanitation guidelines.

Ensure ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and labeled.

Help with inventory management and restocking supplies.

Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure efficient kitchen operations.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year of cooking experience, preferably in Asian cuisine.

Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to follow directions and work as a team-player.

Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 55 pounds.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays as needed.

Ability to read, speak, and understand little or some English in order to communicate with some team members.

Hourly rate $18-$20/hour depending on experience.

Job Types: Full-time and Part-Time

Expected Hours: 62.5 available hours depending on persons availabilities.

No overtime pay.

Shifts:

Morning and/or Evenings

Tuesday 11am to 4pm, up to 1 hour break, 5pm to 10pm.

Wednesday 11am to 4pm, up to 1 hour break, 5pm to 10pm.

Thursday 11am to 4pm, up to 1 hour break, 5pm to 10pm.

Friday 11am to 4pm, up to 1 hour break, 5pm to 11:30pm.

Saturday 11am to 4pm, up to 1 hour break, 5pm to 11:30pm.

Sunday 11:30am to 4pm, up to 1 hour break, 5pm to 10pm.
