District of Columbia, Washington 00000 Washington USA

Small AV-rated litigation firm seeks experienced, independent litigation and trial lawyer. Details below.

THE FIRM: Our main office is located in Reston, Virginia, but all of our lawyers work remotely, coming to the office only when needed to meet with clients, take depositions, participate in mediation, and so forth. There are no billable-hour requirements. We hire only experienced, self-motivated, self-sufficient attorneys capable of handling litigation matters entirely on their own, on their own terms. We consist primarily of former Big Law attorneys looking for more balanced lifestyles. Our practice is focused on business litigation, defamation, and employment law.

THE WORK: We handle a wide variety of litigation matters but most tend to involve business disputes, employment disputes, and defamation claims. You will work with clients directly. While training and supervision is available for more junior attorneys, preference will be given to experienced attorneys capable of handling cases independently.

THE PAY: $150,000 - $250,000, approximately. Total annual compensation varies as there are no billable-hour requirements and some attorneys bill more hours than others. You will be paid according to our revenue-sharing plan, which generally compensates our attorneys at rates ranging from 50-75% of firm revenues generated by their work.

THE QUALIFICATIONS: We require: (1) minimum 4 years with the Virginia Bar; (2) experience litigating cases in Virginia state and federal courts; (3) a fully functional home office with PC (not a Mac), printer, scanner, and Zoom functionality; and (4) no history of discipline in any jurisdiction.

TO APPLY: For consideration, submit (1) your resume, and (2) a copy of a brief you have written and filed with a Virginia state or federal court, signed by you.
