Operations Director – Nonprofit Focused on Palestine and Gaza

Location: Washington, D.C. , Capital Hill/Eastern Market Neighborhood

Our mission is to educate the public and policymakers about Palestine and Gaza, fostering understanding and building meaningful relationships on Capitol Hill. Through advocacy, education, events, and cultural outreach, we aim to elevate awareness and advance informed dialogue.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized, strategic, and mission-driven Operations Director to manage our day-to-day operations and help expand our impact in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working on Capitol Hill, strong relationship-building skills with congressional staffers and policymakers, and a passion for advancing human rights and education.

Key Responsibilities:

Build and maintain strong relationships with congressional offices, staffers, and relevant organizations.

Oversee administrative operations, including supervising the Administrative Assistant.

Maintain and grow organizational databases (contacts, donors, volunteers, media).

Plan and coordinate events, briefings, and community outreach programs.

Draft and distribute newsletters, press releases, and organizational updates.

Support volunteer recruitment and engagement initiatives.

Develop systems and processes to support organizational growth and efficiency.

Collaborate with leadership on strategic initiatives and fundraising activities.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum 3 years of experience in nonprofit operations, public affairs, or government relations.

Prior experience working on or with Capitol Hill.

Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Excellent writing, editing, and media communication abilities.

Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Organizing public programs

Arabic language skills are a plus but not required.
