Description:
We’re looking for a skilled painter to join our team, specializing in signage and display projects. The ideal candidate has experience in a paint booth environment and is comfortable with light carpentry work related to sign fabrication and prep. A working knowledge of the Matthews Paint system and a strong understanding of working within designated timeline expectations.
Responsibilities:
Prep and paint signage materials (wood, metal, acrylic, PVC, etc.) in a controlled paint booth
Mix and match paint colors for accurate brand and finish consistency
Sand, fill, and prime surfaces prior to painting
Perform light carpentry and fabrication: cutting, sanding, and assembly of sign panels and structures
Assist with finishing and installation prep as needed
Maintain booth and work area cleanliness and follow shop safety procedures
Qualifications:
Experience with paint booth equipment and spray systems
Working knowledge of paints, primers, and finishing materials used in signage or display work
Basic carpentry and hand tool skills
Reliable, detail-oriented, and quality-focused
Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
Preferred but not required:
Experience in a sign or print shop environment
Familiarity with vinyl, routing, or CNC-cut signage
Eye for color and finish consistency
Schedule: Part-to-full time (Open to Wknd Work)
Location: Sterling, VA
