About the Role & Team
The Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Member Accounting team is responsible for servicing Disney Vacation Club’s loan portfolio, billing and collecting annual dues on behalf of the condo associations, facilitating the bankruptcy and foreclosure processes, and completing other financial accounting functions along with providing support for the systems used in these activities. The ideal Senior Financial Accounting Analyst candidate will need to develop a deep understanding of Member Accounting systems and processes in order to engage in critical projects and ongoing support of departmental objectives.
What You Will Do
Learn Member Accounting processes including Departmental and Compliance Reporting, Collections, Forecasting and Planning, Financial Accounting and project support
Document detailed accounting, system, and reporting processes for Disney Vacation Club Member Accounting developing into a key subject matter authority.
Represent Member Accounting as key contributor in Disney Vacation Club projects to include identifying impacts to Member Accounting systems and processes, defining system and accounting requirements, and performing testing where necessary.
Identify, champion, and drive improvements to bring efficiencies and eliminate manual processes for Member Accounting where possible.
Ensure accurate accounting transactions.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Ability to perform detailed account reconciliations using various tools including Excel, Power BI, Tableau, etc.
Ability to document detailed accounting, system and reporting requirements
Ability to communicate optimally (verbal and written) with internal and external partners
Ability to adapt quickly, work independently, take ownership, and work in a flexible team environment
Experience with system testing
Proven skills in ad-hoc report development to provide significant business metrics and analytical tools
Critical thinking to challenge the status quo and bring forward improvements in execution as part of the system replacement project
Ability to prepare and present information to support decision-making
Ability to plan and prioritize work and balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3 – 5 years of Timeshare Accounting and industry knowledge
Experience working on system projects from an Accounting perspective
Experience with SAP, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx and other similar tools
Detailed understanding of existing Disney Vacation Club systems and Member Accounting current state processes
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar business degree
3+ years of Finance or Accounting experience
