The security analyst plays a vital role in keeping proprietary and sensitive information secure. They will work inter-departmentally to identify and correct flaws in the company’s security systems, solutions, and programs while recommending specific measures that can improve the company’s overall security posture. They will have expertise in cyber security, firewalls, network security, information assurance, Linux/Windows, security information and event management (SIEM), application security, security engineering, and security architecture.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Responsible for ensuring that the company's digital assets are protected from unauthorized access
  • Generating reports for IT administrators and business managers to evaluate the efficacy of the security policies
  • Keeping the company's security systems up to date
  • Creating documentation and planning for all security-related information, including incident response and disaster recovery plans
  • Staying up-to-date on information technology trends and security standards
  • Developing company-wide best practices for IT security
  • Managing annual HIPAA Security Risk Assessments and HITRUST certifications and re-certifications
  • Responding to Customer and Vendor security questionnaires

Essential Functions
  • Identifying and mitigating network vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them
  • Understanding of patch management with the ability to deploy patches in a timely manner while understanding business impact
  • Monitoring security access
  • Conducting security assessments through vulnerability testing and risk analysis
  • Performing both internal and external security audits
  • Continuously updating the company’s incident response and disaster recovery plans
  • Verifying the security of third-party vendors and collaborating with them to meet security requirements
  • Monitor computer networks for security issues
  • Investigate security breaches and other cyber security incidents
  • Install security measures and operate software to protect systems and information infrastructure, including firewalls and data encryption programs
  • Perform tests and uncover network vulnerabilities
  • Fix detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard
  • Perform penetration testing
  • Help colleagues install security software and understand information security management
  • Research security enhancements and make recommendations to management

Degree, Certifications, Licenses
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
  • 3 to 5 years relevant security work experience
  • CISSP, CCSP, CISM certifications preferred
  • Exposure to HIPAA, NIST, ISO, HITRUST, SANS preferred
  • Detail-oriented and have an analytical mindset
