The Planning & Design Program Manager is responsible for leading internal and external project teams in efforts to build, reallocate, modernize airport and off-airport car rental facilities. The individual is directly responsible for clearly identifying and framing scope of work packages for projects and working with A&E firms to ensure construction documents are developed to corporate standards across projects assigned. Other key responsibilities include providing architectural and technical CAD assistance to develop/design fixture plans, preliminary layouts and signage plans to support new, remodel, reallocation programs for airport and off-airport properties. The position requires attendance to car rental facilities with an approximate 20-30% travel requirements.What you'll do:
Ensures all designs conform to prototype standards and guidelines.
Manages the planning & design process for car rental facilities – new construction, modernizations, reallocations and other projects as required by the business.
Manages external vendor relationships in areas such as architecture, engineering, signage, and FFE.
Together with external A&E firm, creates design packages for local jurisdiction submittals, not limited to but including renderings.
Manages sign specifications for Hertz/Dollar/Thrifty brands across airport and off-airport facilities.
Communicates all necessary information to the Engineering and Construction departments to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is communicated throughout the project lifecycle.
Develops digital CAD schematic design fit outs for airport and off-airport facilities supporting airport planners, real estate managers and other key corporate stakeholders. Design for off-airport facilities may be taken into detailed design development.
Stays current on design industry market trends and best practices.
Stays current on ADA code requirements and compliance factors for new and retrofit design work.
Proactively seeks ways to optimize planning/design to drive corporate cost saving/avoidance initiatives while preserving and augmenting the customer/employee experience with safety in mind.
Maintains healthy relationships with internal and external stakeholders including Marketing, Customer Experience, Real Estate, Properties, Airport Planners, Construction PMs, Facility Managers, Local Operations, Safety, Security, architectural and engineering partners, and others.
May lead directly or indirectly internal and external resources.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What we're looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture or related field is a minimal requirement.
5+ years of advanced experience in CAD/Revit drafting of commercial architectural projects.
Experience using AutoCAD (or Revit), SketchUp and Enscape to develop renderings and conceptual design.
Highly proficient with MS Office Suite programs specially Powerpoint.
Highly proficient in reading and understanding architectural and MEP drawings including technology standards.
Experience in a fast-paced business environment often requiring multi-tasking.
Strong presentation skills and solid business acumen.
What you'll get:
We expect the starting salary for this role to be around $100,000 commensurate with relevant work experience.
