Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant position based in Fort Myers, Florida. This role is crucial within the Healthcare, Hospitals, and Social Assistance industry. As a Staff Accountant, you will be expected to manage and reconcile balance sheet accounts, post non-patient cash receipts, prepare journal entries, and assist with audit preparation.Responsibilities: Handle the reconciliation process of balance sheet accounts and investigate any discrepancies Manage non-patient cash receipts and ensure they are accurately posted to the respective AR sub ledgers Prepare necessary journal entries in a timely and accurate manner Provide assistance in setting up new financial year accounts, binders, and folders Participate in audit preparations and provide necessary support and documentation Use skills such as Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation, and Journal Entries to complete tasks efficiently and accurately. Requirements Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role within the Healthcare, Hospitals, or Social Assistance industry. Demonstrated proficiency in account reconciliation and balance sheet account reconciliation. Experience with preparing and posting journal entries. Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information. Familiarity with healthcare industry regulations and standards related to accounting would be a plus.
