Representing J&J Vanlines, you will deliver, install, and set up custom made to order furniture in customers’ homes with a high level of professionalism, ensuring product integrity and outstanding customer satisfaction. You will perform tasks both in transit (driving) and in customer settings (installation, assembly, protection of environment).
Key Responsibilities
Load and secure furniture and accessories properly at warehouse, using material handling equipment as needed.
Drive company vehicles safely, obeying all traffic laws and company policies; conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle safety checks. Experience driving a 26' box truck is required.
Using dispatching software, notify customers prior to leaving warehouse to provide an estimated delivery window; update via phone call and text if schedule shifts.
Deliver furniture, including assembly/installation, placement, adjustment, leveling; remove packaging and trash.
Protect customer property during delivery (using blankets, floor covers, sliders, etc. as required).
Report any damage or missing pieces while at the residence to customer service.
Maintain communication with dispatch, supervisor, and other relevant departments about delays, issues, or delivery changes.
Complete required paperwork, electronic records, signatures, damage notices, returns, etc.
Assist in warehouse tasks when required (e.g. staging deliveries, wrapping, loading, inventory movement).
Qualifications
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; experience driving l26' box truck required.
Physical ability: ability to lift heavy items (e.g. 50-100 lbs), work on stairs, bend, carry, crouch, etc.
Strong customer service skills; professional demeanor; able to communicate clearly and kindly.
Detail oriented: ability to notice damage, verify correct items.
Time management and reliability: ability to meet delivery windows and follow scheduled routes. Efficiency is crucial.
Ability to work flexibility (weekends, some evenings, possibly holiday schedules).
Pass background check, drug screen, DOT physical.
Working Conditions
Work includes warehouse, loading dock, vehicle, and customers’ homes.
Exposure to varied conditions (stairs, tight spaces, elevation, possibly outdoor exposure while moving items).
Use of lifting gear, dollies, straps, blankets and protective materials.
