SALARY RANGE

$37,117.08 – $40,828.79 Annually $1,427.58 - $1,570.34 Biweekly

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This is supervisory work planning, organizing and directing the daily food preparation serving and meal delivery operation.

This position spends a major portion of the time planning and directing daily workloads and managing deadlines, as well as communicating, motivating, training and evaluating employees to ensure quality control in the Food Service Department.

Plans and organizes daily activities. Motivates employees to improve the quality and quantity of work performed by directing workloads to ensure the best use of time and resources.

Directs and supervises Food Support Workers in the preparation and serving of food(s) while ensuring sanitary conditions are being met in the food preparation and serving areas.

Instructs employees in sanitary precautions and personal hygiene.

Supervises the maintenance and proper care of heavy-duty equipment. Directs and supervises Motor Vehicle Operators in meal delivery schedules and time utilization.

Communicates with employees on an individual basis and at staff meetings on a regular basis. Evaluates employees through established evaluation criteria and responsibilities.

Monitors all food after preparation to prevent waste and ensure standards are maintained.

Enforces sanitary and safety standards in the kitchen, on the tray line and the cafeteria. Orders and checks food supplies, cleaning materials and kitchen supplies.

Determines training needs for employees. Provides in-service training designed to improve employee performance as needed.

Performs related work as requested by Food Service Director II and OMC 1 (Operations & Management Consultant I).

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

A valid Florida Driver’s License.

If hired with an out-of-state license a valid Florida State driver’s license must be obtained within 30 days.

Corrective Lenses Restricted license are acceptable provided the driver wears the corrective lenses while operating a state vehicle.

Must be willing to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency.

Must be willing to work beyond the normal work schedule to maintain minimum coverage levels and meet the needs of the Agency.

Must be able to lift up to 50lbs with or without accommodation.

This position may be required to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency per APD OP 2-0035.

This position is critical to the safety and supervision of residents and may require the incumbent to work beyond their normal work schedule to maintain minimum coverage levels in the facility.

As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT

It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
