The incumbent is expected to promote cooperation, courtesy, and teamwork, in a diverse environment and as an employee of the Alachua County Health Department, represents the agency and its mission and values while acknowledging that all information held ln health records is confidential, with access governed by the state and federal laws Confidential information includes the clients name, address, medical social and financial data and services received. Maintains current knowledge of the Federal WIC program regulations including WIC memos, WIC FL-WSE clinic manual and the FL WIC Manual DHM ,150-24. Telephone: -Answering multi-line phone and inputting information into the FL-WiSE computer system -Transferring phone calls to multiple locations and recipients. Responsible for triaging call to program staff to proper and timely handling -Assists caller and clients with program questions, appointments scheduling and informing them what they may need to bring at their upcoming appointment. -Call to sign up all referral and consented participants from Healthy START Prenatal and Infant Screens to increase program participation -Assists clients with change of address, and completes voter’s preference form and voter registration application -Performs interactive nutrition education via Nutrition Education Kit delivery followed by issuing EBT benefits to WIC clients Other Duties: -Processes return mail to decipher correct demographic information and updates in FL-WiSE -Processes transactions or requests that can be completed at workstation -Assists clerical and clinical staff as needed -Attends staff meetings as required -Maintains current knowledge of program guidelines, requirements, and procedures -Triages referred Healthy Start Screens to increase program participation -Assists supervisor with the seasonal WIC Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) Other duties as assigned within the scope of the class title. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to deal with the public in a tactful and courteous manner. Ability to maintain effective customer service skills in stressful situations. Ability to prioritize, organize, and schedule work assignments. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to lift 25 lbs.
