Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a diligent Staff Accountant to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida. In this role, you will manage both accounts payable and receivable, perform bank reconciliations, and maintain our general ledger. You will also be expected to handle journal entries, work with QuickBooks, and use Great Plains Accounting software. This position offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Handle accounts payable and receivable in an efficient manner Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy Maintain the general ledger and ensure all entries are accurate Prepare and manage journal entries Utilize QuickBooks for various accounting tasks Use Great Plains Accounting software to manage financial data Work on account receivables systems to manage customer payments Play a significant role in the financial management of two companies Be open to feedback and willing to learn new skills and techniques in the accounting sector. Requirements Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management Experience with Bank Reconciliations Familiarity with General Ledger operations Ability to prepare and analyze Journal Entries Proficiency in using QuickBooks for accounting tasks Experience using Accounts Receivables systems Knowledge of Great Plains (GPAC) software Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Willingness to continually update skills and knowledge in the field of accounting.
