Job Summary:
The Tree Groundsman supports the tree care team by performing a variety of tasks that ensure the safe and efficient operation of tree maintenance and removal activities. Responsibilities include assisting in tree trimming, removal and clean-up operations. The role requires physical fitness, attention to safety protocols, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in Tree Maintenance:
Support arborists in pruning, trimming, and cutting down trees.
Safely lower branches and tree sections to the ground using ropes and rigging techniques.
Ground Operations:
Clear and dispose of brush, branches, and debris.
Operate chainsaws, and other power tools safely and efficiently.
Safety and Equipment:
Adhere to all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Conduct regular maintenance checks on tools and equipment.
Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor.
Site Preparation and Clean-Up:
Prepare the job site by setting up safety barriers and signs.
Ensure the work area is clean and safe during and after operations.
Load and unload equipment and materials from trucks.
